Tobacco Valley Fiber Guild

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to educate ourselves and others in the diverse and creative field of fiber arts and fiber production while promoting these diverse traditional folk arts and the

time-honored agricultural field of natural fiber production. We are the shepherds of traditions seeking balance and harmony in all we do

Our Symbol:

We choose for our symbol the colors representing our crafts.  These colors are deep purple, intense green, rich blue, black and white.

Black = is the earth from which it all begins, it is also the rocks and mountains that surround and shelter this valley.

Blue = is the sky and the rivers that join together to bring the blessed moisture to the earth and provide water for the land, the animals and the people.

White = is the clouds that bring together the elements of air and water and earth and fire to create the rain that brings the green, that blesses the cycle from creatures to creation.

Green = is the grasses, the bushes, the trees that provide food and shade and nourishes life to support the creation of beauty with our hands and hearts.

Purple = is the heather, lavender, alfalfa, and other flowering plants that provide food and medicine so that we can all flourish and grow and have the strength and health to put energy into creating beauty.
